Donation Philosophy

Transparency is in our DNA

It’s important that the public understands where their contributions will be directed. We follow a simple 70/20/10 model. See below to understand why we’ve decided on this strategy and the impact your contribution makes.

Each homeless participant provides us a list of items they need in order to get back on their feet. This might include a mattress, food, rental assistance, personal hygiene items, clothes, microwave, etc. 

Every week, the homeless participant will work with us as we purchase items outlined on their needs list. In an effort to encourage self-sustainability, participants are only allowed 9 months of assistance. We never give funds directly to the participant. 

By raising funds for a relevant non-profit, the participant becomes empowered and begins contributing to society in a meaningful way…the psychological impact is immeasurable!

In addition, the homeless participant is more likely to leverage the assistance of the non-profit as they are now a donor!

We regularly assess the financials of our partner non-profits to ensure their funds are being used appropriately. 

The onboarding of each homeless participant costs us approximately $350. This includes their onboarding kit (backpack, cell phone, cell service, masks, sleeping bag, etc. coming in mid 2021), video production, website development, marketing & outreach, legal costs, regulatory filings and administrative work.  All other work is done by our wonderful volunteer board members.
